Students – Storrs Campus

Students on the Storrs campus are eligible to purchase permits based on their commuter or resident status and residence assignment. Resident and apartment permits require 54 or more credits and are sold on a first come, first served basis.

Students assigned housing in The Oaks through UConn Residential Life are eligible for Commuter permits through UConn. Commuter permits do not allow for overnight parking. Students also have access to purchase Downtown Storrs garage parking through The Oaks.

All commuters are eligible to purchase the following types of permits which are lot/garage specific and are available on a first, come first served basis:

  • South Garage
  • Premium Commuter (Lots I East & lower Lot F)
  • Lots C, K, and W (Commuter spaces ONLY)

Residents with 54 or more credits are eligible to purchase the following types of permits based on their housing assignment:

  • Premium Resident - North and Northwest (where designated)
  • Resident - Lots A, D, T, W & Hilltop Apartments (where designated)
  • Lot K Resident - (Resident spaces ONLY)
  • Charter Oak Apartments (Does not include Area 2)
  • Hilltop Apartments (Does not include Area 2
  • Northwood Apartments

Avery Point & Hartford campus students assigned University housing on the Storrs campus are eligible to purchase a Resident parking permit. Resident permits authorize parking on surface lots posted for the use of that specific permit type. Hartford campus parking is provided at the CT Convention Center garage and requires access to be granted to the garage. Purchase Parking Permits

ALL Storrs Commuter and Resident Permits also authorize parking in the following locations:

  • Avery Point - Commuter Lots A & B
  • Hartford - 100% validation Convention Center Garage (details)
  • Law School - All Commuter student lots
  • Stamford - 1194 Washington Boulevard (parking between the hours 6:00AM and 11:00PM)
  • Waterbury - UConn Waterbury Garage (Levels 2 & 3)

During the Summer Term and the Fall, Intersession and Spring recess periods, Avery Point Commuter Permits authorize parking on any student surface lot EXCEPT within areas designated for use by “Premium Resident” permit holders.

Hourly PayByPhone mobile parking is also available for those students who only need to come to campus occasionally.  The PBP rate in surface lots is charged only between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays UNLESS OTHERWISE POSTED.
