Transportation Services is pleased to announce the addition of a “reservations required” shuttle that will take faculty, staff and students to Union Station in Hartford! For those who are not aware, Amtrak trains (the Vermonter and Regional routes), as well as Peter Pan buses, run in to and out of Union Station in Hartford.

This shuttle operates just like the Bradley Airport shuttle, with the following rules:

• Both the Bradley Airport and Union Station shuttles operate throughout the year. With enough notice, there is not normally a day in which we will not be able to provide transportation for you!
• Reservations should be made at least one week in advance, unless it is an emergency
• Short-notice, non-emergency requests can often be accommodated but we ask that you please try to avoid such requests
• The sooner in advance your request is made, the sooner we can schedule you for a ride
• Services are offered for people traveling on official UConn business and/or students traveling for breaks or other times throughout the year
• Please do not ask the driver to make additional stops on campus, as they (mostly students) are normally on tight schedules themselves. We will be glad to pick you up at your last campus stop but please don’t ask the driver to stop at the Co-op, Dairy Bar, etc.
• In addition to what is mentioned above, we will also pick-up and drop-off people coming to Storrs for Freshman and Transfer Orientation, PhD candidate interviews, visiting professors, guest speakers, etc.
• If there is ever a question of whether you or someone else can use the service, just call or email us to ask!
• All pick-ups and drop-offs take place on the Storrs campus (including the Nathan Hale Inn) or at an apartment complex we currently service with our bus and AVS services
• Sorry but we will not pick-up or drop-off at individual homes
• Cost is $50 one-way and $100 round-trip, per person
• Group rates are available for three or more passengers traveling and paying together
• We take cash, checks, Husky Bucks, or FRS
• Payment must be made before the services are rendered
• All drivers are state employees who, by the codes of conduct, cannot accept tips

UConn Transportation can now, once again, take you from Storrs to Bradley Airport or from Bradley Airport to Storrs! We will pick you up at your residence hall, drop you at the applicable airline and off you’ll go to your vacation or home-cooking destination! When you come back to school or come to Storrs for Orientation, we will pick you up at baggage claim and bring you right to campus!

The cost is much less than what off-campus companies are charging and you have the comfort of knowing you are being driven by a State of Connecticut employee (normally one of your fellow students) who is fully-insured, in a vehicle that is also fully-insured!

The details are as follows:

• Open to all UConn Storrs students
• Cost is $50.00 one-way/$100.00 round-trip
• Reservations must be made no later than one week prior to the flight (being waived for people returning this week for spring semester), either in to or out of Bradley Airport, unless it is an emergency or other extenuating circumstance. Emergencies can be called in as soon as you are aware of your flight information and are handled on a case-by-case basis.
• Reservations will be taken Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm EST/EDT

• Payments must be hand-carried or mailed to Transportation Services and must be in the form of either cash or check. Please do not mail cash! Sorry but we cannot take credit cards.
