Storrs Campus – Parking Information for 2017/18

Changes to Parking 2017/18′

Parking Lot Updates/Construction Projects:

  • Construction of the Fine Arts Production Facility has begun and the parking capacity of the Fine Arts Lot 1 has been reduced by approximately 100 spaces. An “Area 1 (Fine Arts)” permit is now required to park on the Fine Arts Lot 1.
  • Parking on Coventry Road, which runs between the Fine Arts Lot 1 and S-Lot, will also impacted by the Fine Arts Production Facility construction.
  • The Thomas J. Dodd Research Center Lot closed in May 2017.  That Lot is expected to remain closed until the Student Recreation Center opens.
  • The Whitney Road Extension closed and will remain closed until the Recreation Center opens.

Parking Lot Updates Student Lots:

  • J-Lot (150 spaces) on Discovery Drive is Commuter student permit parking.
  • The Lot located behind Bishop Center was converted from Area 2 to Commuter Student permit parking.
  • B Lot, located behind Buckley Hall, was converted from “Commuter Student & GA/TA” to “Area 2 & GA/TA” permit parking.
  • The Off-Street parking spaces at the eastern end of Horsebarn Hill Road (North-side) were converted from Area 2 to Commuter Student permit parking.
  • The Accessible Parking Needs previously met by Dodd Lot (closed May 2017) have been relocated to the eastern end of Whitney Road.

Parking Lot Updates Staff Lots:

  • Additional Area 2 permit parking capacity will be established on the Nathan Hale lot.
  • The Lot located behind Buckley Hall (B-Lot) was converted from “Commuter Student & GA/TA” to “Area 2 Staff & GA/TA” permit parking.
  • The Lot behind Bishop Center was converted from Area 2 Staff to Commuter Student permit parking.
  • The off-street parking spaces at the eastern end of Horsebarn Hill Road (North-side) were converted from Area 2 to Commuter Student permit parking.
  • The 6 Gilbert Road Lot was converted from Area 2 Staff to Area 1 Staff permit parking; a change that partially mitigated the recent loss of Area 1 Staff capacity along Oak Lane when Woodland Corridor was established.
  • The Accessible Parking Needs previously met by Dodd Lot (closed May 2017) have been relocated to the eastern end of Whitney Road.

Overnight Parking Information:

  • Overnight parking on W-Lot is prohibited.
  • Overnight parking in and around Husky Village and Towers is now available to those with Resident Student permits.
